James ("Jim") P. Calve is Of Counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He represents clients in a variety of areas including antitrust, International Trade Commission proceedings, patent litigation and unfair competition and trade secrets in electrical, computer, internet and mechanical matters.
Jim focuses on patent litigation in the Federal Courts and in Section 337 proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission. He also regularly counsels clients on patent validity and infringement issues including product clearances and design-around studies.
Jim's practice involves diverse technologies, including packaging for pharmaceutical and foods, automotive components, internal combustion engine diagnostics, HVAC systems, packaging systems and products, product handling, conveying and dispensing systems, robotics, fasteners and fastening systems, medical and surgical instruments and systems, telecommunications, e-commerce and business methods, integrated circuit cards, data encryption, computer systems and networks, electrical circuits, semiconductors, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical power tools and systems, gaming devices and design patents.
